Supported Charities
The following are some of the charities that have been supported by The Merchants Association of Columbia County (MACC) in the recent years.
Child Enrichment – The mission is to provide and coordinate comprehensive intervention, stabilization, advocacy, and prevention to the best interest of abandoned, abused, neglected and sex-trafficked children. Child Enrichment is the Merchant Association (MACC) Spring Fair partner for the 2022 and 2023 Spring Fair. In 2022, MACC donated more than $120,000 to Child Enrichment.
Day with a Deputy – An event sponsored by the Columbia County (Ga) Sheriff’s Department that provides a partnership with community kids in need. Day with a Deputy provides a day of shopping with disadvantaged kids and provides a personal one on one experience for a child with a deputy to spend time and build a relationship and community bond.
Ronald McDonald House – Provides support services and housing for families as a “home away from home”, for families while their child receives vital medical care in the local Augusta area. The Merchants association of Columbia County partnered with Ronald MacDonald House of Augusta in 2020 and 2021 and donated more than $200,000 to the charity.
Columbia County Cares – A local food bank that provides food resources to individuals and families in need.
4H Club, Columbia County Extension – 4-H empowers young people with skills to lead for a lifetime by providing ways for the youth to live by the motto and slogan , “To Make the Best Better” and to “Learn by Doing”. The 4-H Club goal is to teach students service, leadership, and citizenship skills. The Columbia County 4-H Extension is a Georgia 4-H partner of the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.
Martinez-Evans Little League – through proper guidance and exemplary leadership, the Little League program assists children in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being. By espousing the virtues of character, courage and loyalty, the Little League Baseball program is designed to develop superior citizens rather than superior athletes.”
Ft Gordon Christmas House – Provides Christmas gifts and toys to children of active military families (E6 and below), serving typically around 370 children and 200 families.

Restart Augusta – Restart Augusta furnishes the foundation for a good start on the day and a healthy life by providing a new or gently used bed and bedding for children, families, and veterans in the Augusta area. With a bed comes a sense of comfort, rest, and peace, and at ReStart Augusta they work with local volunteers and donors to build up our community and the lives of people who live in it.
The Healthy Grandparent Program – The Healthy Grandparents Program was established at Augusta University’s College of Nursing in January of 1999 to provide physical, emotional, and social support to grandparents and great-grandparents raising their grandchildren ages 0-17 living in parent-absent homes. The program serves both Richmond and Columbia Counties. The primary goal is to strengthen these extended families so children can experience a stable and supportive environment without having to enter the formal foster care system.
Bridge Food Pantry Ministry – The ministry provides food and ministry to homeless in the CSRA area. Aside from their weekly food distribution, they hold several large holiday events with food, and warm clothing or coats.
HOPE Women’s Center – Providing compassionate, supportive and confidential care to woman in CSRA are faced with difficult life situations.
Future Farmers of America- Harlem/Evans – Proving educational practical agricultural experience and activities to promote awareness and develop life skills from the responsibilities of the FFA activities for students in the Harlem and Evans scold districts.
The RecCing Crew – Provides aid, leisure and recreational activities for people ages 6-88 with visual, hearing, intellectual and/or physical disabilities. They provide opportunities for individuals and families throughout the CSRA area.
Other Supported Agencies in past years include but are not limited to: the Boy, & Girl Scouts; Abilene Easter Egg Drop; The Rodeo; Rotary Club Yard Sale; Sharon Baptist Christian Program; Family Promise; Safe Homes; Project Wish and the Mosaic Center.
